This Finna Be Long, Sorry

I echo Austin's words as I say wuzzuh to y'all this fine Day. It's Elder Cooper Ditto, and I'm currently in Mèxico at this huge compound thing they call the missionary training center. I'm here to learn Spanish and how to teach about God and Jesus Christ before I head to Texas on Feb 4th.

dis is me in Mexico, yo

Before I got here I was chilling at my house for a week and a half doing like online (Zoom) Spanish and teaching classes, which was fun to be home still but lowk mad tiring and aburrido being on Zoom for 8+ hours a day.

Last Thursday at 3am I arose and flew from Yak to Seattle, then chilled in the airport (with no phone) until my flight to Mexico City. Listened to In Rainbows and CAS on the plane, such a blessing. But then I slept through the food on the plane and they lost my bags which was so fire!!!!! As a result, I was very hungry and wore the same clothes for three days, shoutout AeroMΓ¨xico πŸ™πŸ™. But eventually, they shipped them here so I'm being chilling. But pretty much the longest day of my life, I was incredibly tired.

Don't steal my info

Finally got my luggage. Hooray!

Apparently, I've been sleep-talking in Spanish since the first day I got here, sorry housemates πŸ˜πŸ˜. But with that being said, I love Spanish and feel like I'm doing pretty well w it, considering I've only been studying again for three weeks.
Our Spanish teacher (and favorite), Hermano Lozano

The food here in the CCM is super bad, like if the CANC and a Mexican toilet had a baby haha. I consistently have stomach aches and headaches πŸ₯°.

Elder Lewis (my companion aka the bro I was assigned to live and everything with) and me get along super well, we have lots of fun and lock in on occasion. The rest if my district (7 other missionaries I take classes with) is fine, some are annoying some are dawgies πŸΆ. But I've made some mejor homies here, and shoutout my boi Elder Owsley aka Collinski. Hyped for Jaden to get here tmrw, aka Elder Brown πŸ’©
Some homies

During the days we pretty much go to classes to learn how to preach and speak Spanish.... we get free time where we play volleyball, pickleball, etc. Meal times are my favorite (even tho the food is mal) cuz I got to converse with all the homies and just chill.

Meal Time, Yo!

So when I pulled up here my hair was pretty long, and a couple different times some adults would be like yo cut that yish. But the Barberia here is pretty bad, so I wanted to get some native Elders to cut it bc they all have freshy cuts. Made friends w some Mexican homies this week and we pulled up and Elder Aroujo got me right πŸ™πŸ™. He told me "come at 9pm with 5 dollar" (except in Spanish, bro knows no English). Now we just pull up to their house every night and chop it up with all the natives, they're so funny. It's so sick how even with a bit of a language barrier, we can truly become amigos. Missionary work brings us together.
